Dinbeat closes a 500,000 euros investment round
Dinbeat, a startup specialized in the development of innovative and technological products for the pet sector, has successfully closed its second investment round, of a total amount of 500,000 euros.
he funding round, which has been fully articulated in convertible notes, has included the participation of current partners, investors from the IESE Business Angels Network, Afintia, Accelgrow, veterinary professionals and other business angels who already were aware of the project.
Dinbeat launchedDinbeat UNO, last year, a wearable device for professional veterinary use, that wirelessly monitors pets’ health in real time, gathering information about electrocardiogram, heart rate, respiration per minute and temperature, among other metrics. . One of the main added values of this device is that it allows veterinary clinics to monitor non-sedated animals.
This expansion allows the company to reinforce its internationalization strategy during 2020 and unlocks the Enisa Growth Spanish participative loan. In addition, it will allow the company to grow its team, reinforcing the areas of marketing, sales, development, and helping to validate its technology for human-use by the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital (Can Ruti) in Badalona, Spain.
Talía Bonmatí, CEO and Founder of Dinbeat, has assured that “with this round, Dinbeat hopes to consolidate its position in the veterinary sector in 2020, and to open a new line of health tech business in parallel in 2021, once the technology is validated for human-use. Telemedicine is here to stay and we want to lead the change ”.
Dinbeat Life, a device to monitor human health
The company was contacted at the end of March and in the middle of the Covid-19 emergency by Médecins Sans Frontières and the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, to evaluate the use of this technology in remote patient monitoring during the Covid-19 emergency. Such contact occurred through IQS Tech Factory, IQS’s industrial accelerator, where Dinbeat took part of its program in 2018.
Dinbeat, which developed this remote health monitoring tool, has adapted its technology for human use, thus creating Dinbeat Life. A telemedicine device that will allow, very soon, the remote control of patients in many situations, home patients, senior centers, field hospitals, etc. The device that allows an unlimited number of patients to be controlled from the same central unit, also receiving alerts when any patient requires medical attention, will open up endless possibilities for remote patient monitoring.
So far, Dinbeat has had the support of entities such as CDTI,Enisa,Acció, Barcelona Activa, IQS,UAB, Microsoft for Startups, Google for Startups, Garage + Asia, Esade, the University of Murcia and Animal Biosciences,a company owned by Life Biosciences, a North American business group based in Boston that focuses its investments in the field of health, and who were the private investors who Dinbeat closed its first investment round with.
